Rules & Ranking Mechanics
d2cbid operates on deterministic, verifiable rules. No hidden algorithms, no subjective editorial curation. Here is exactly how the board functions.
1. Pure Bid-to-Rank Hierarchy
Positions are sorted strictly by current active bid amount descending. Higher bid amount always holds higher rank on the leaderboard.
2. Single Bid, Multi-Category Ranking
A brand places one bid. That single bid ranks the listing simultaneously on the global board and within every category (up to 3) the brand competes in.
3. Deterministic Tie-Breaking
If two listings have identical active bid amounts, the brand that placed the bid earlier (ranked_at ASC) retains the higher rank. If still tied, the earlier created listing ID breaks the tie.
4. 30-Day Listing Term
Every successful bid secures your listing on the board for a full 30-day term. If you upgrade your bid at any point, your 30-day clock completely resets.
5. Difference-Only Upgrades
To move to a higher slot, you only pay the incremental price difference between your target slot and your current secured bid. Downgrades are not permitted.
6. $1.00 USD Minimum Price Floor
The minimum entry bid for any brand or slot is $1.00 USD (100 cents). Increments to outbid are in steps of $1.00 USD.
7. Outbid Protection & Checkout Guarantees
If another brand secures your target slot while your checkout session is in progress, your payment will automatically not claim a stale quote and will be refunded in full without penalty.
8. Genuine D2C Brands Only
Listings must represent authentic direct-to-consumer businesses with active, reachable websites. Deceptive redirects, spam, malware, or fraudulent listings will be permanently removed without refund.
Zero-Risk Outbid Guarantee
If someone takes your slot while you are completing payment on the checkout screen, you receive an immediate, automatic full refund.
